Following the overwhelmingly successful development of the SDS-Plus 4-cutter up to Ø 16 mm, the larger SDS-Plus drills have also been further developed. This is based on the basic technical specifications of the design of the smaller sizes, which have proven to be extremely suitable for intensive users. For instance, the same symmetrical 4-turn helix and the excellent carbide plate with high-performance cutting edges are used. In this series of drills, the carbide insert is no longer cross-shaped; instead, the 4-cutter is formed by a main plate with two carbide side plates at a 90° angle.
