Tormek T-4 Original Wet Grinder
Special Features
- With the Tormek T-4, you have a high-quality machine at your disposal that is ideal for home use and for hobbyists. The machine gives you access to the extensive Tormek system with sharpening jigs and can sharpen practically all common sharp tools.
- The Tormek T-4 is an upgrade of the T-3 model, taking precision and stability to a higher level. Crucial functions, such as the motor and the spindle, are housed in the die-cast zinc top. It is also equipped with integrated sleeves for the universal support. This advanced design ensures unsurpassed precision for the universal support, which is used for all sharpening jigs and accessories.
- Just like the larger models, the T-4 comes equipped with the original Tormek grinding stone. This stone combines efficient steel removal, a smooth surface finish, and a long service life. With the included grading stone, you can change the surface of the grinding stone from a 220 grit to a 1000 grit surface, giving you two sharpening options in one stone. The T-4 is very suitable for sharpening chisels, knives, scissors, and other small tools, such as woodcarving tools. This machine can also be used for turning tools and drill bits, but for plane irons and profile knives, we recommend one of the larger Tormek machines. Please note that some gouge models cannot be honed with the SVD-186 due to the compact shape of the T-4. These gouges can be honed freehand. The motor can be used continuously for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time. This is usually more than sufficient for domestic use, but if you have more sharpening work, we recommend taking a look at the larger Tormek machines, which can run continuously. The Tormek T-4 comes with the SP-650 grading stone, the WM-200 angle setting jig, PA-70 honing paste, the EM-15 edge marker to color the chamfer when setting the cutting angle, and the Tormek sharpening manual. Configure the T-4 with the sharpening jigs of your choice, depending on the tool you want to sharpen (sold separately). Because the sleeves of the universal support are now cast into the zinc top, together with the new stanchion-shaped holes (patent pending), they ensure that precision is improved by 300% compared to the T-3. The handle makes the machine easy to move and position. This prevents you from being tempted to accidentally lift the machine by the universal support.
- Crucial parts, such as the motor and shaft, are integrated into the cast zinc top.
- The machine plate is now made of metal. This makes it a good place to store the Tormek angle setting jig (with magnetic feet).
What are the differences between the T-4 and the T-3?
- Precision has been improved by more than 300%: This improves your control over the grinding process and the precision of your end result.
- Handle for easy movement: Makes it easy to position and store the machine.
- Metal machine plate: Therefore, this is a good place to store the Tormek angle setting jig (with magnetic feet). Sharpening stone diameter scale
- The sharpening jig for right angles is not included: You can now configure your Tormek from the start by choosing the sharpening jigs that suit your sharpening needs. For example, if you only sharpen knives, you don't have to pay for something you won't use.
- Grading stone included (because you need it): Regardless of the tool you sharpen, you need a grading stone. That is why it is included. Use this stone regularly so that you always have a fresh sharpening stone. Additionally haa
